Mom, Can I have Cake For Breakfast?

Kid: Please?
Me: NO
Kid: All I had was applesauce.
Me: That's your fault. The house is full of food. Drink a smoothie.
Kid: I had applesauce. I'll be OK, for about an hour. Then I'll be starving. Can I have cake?
Me: Drink the smoothie, NOW.
Kid: Grumble, grumble, grumble. I told you to get me chocolate donuts.

my cats try a similar tactic all the time...i tell them chicken baby food doesn't have the vitamins and minerals they need to grow strong in 12 ways (or whatever the Wonderbread ditty used to say) but they say they'd rather have "kitty donuts" than a "smoothie" any day!

[giggle] Kinda reminds me of the old Bill Cosby skit. Remember ... where he fed his kids chocolate cake for breakfast and his wife went berserk? That's one of my favorite's of his.

Mmm cake.

It has flour - eggs - calcium - and other stuff; yes the Bill Cosby bit is great!
